Interlude—people send me books sometimes

After buying a book from me, reader JamiSings was inspired to send me a bunch of campy old paperbacks: several Agatha Christies, a romance novel, and a couple of sex books ("Sex Games that People Play" —about the unsexiest book I've ever briefly looked at—and "The Sensuous Woman" by J, which I've heard of and which is quite graphic in places). Of these six, I thought two of them deserved special notice.

First, the harrowing tale of Vincent Price's elaborate scheme for revenge against those bastards at Godiva Chocolate:

And second, the touching story of a woman with a secret passion for dry-humping enormous cloves of garlic:

If Cordelia Taylor is trying to hide from that Cuban plotter over there, she's not doing a very good job of it.

It reminded me more of a leek then garlic myself.

I'm glad you are enjoying them. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for more. The Friends Of The Library sell paperbacks for 50 cents each.

It would have been so much better if the first title was published by "Lancer Books". Oh well.

On a related note, anyone want this liquid-center chocolate cherry? Not in the mood for it anymore for some reason...

I'd beggar my considerable kingdom to be able to rock an evil mustache like "Vincent" up there.

JamiSings, why haven't you sent the Vicar and I any ribald and/or interesting books?! Next time you find something particularly tasty, send away!

Rex, you mentioned the lady's proclivity for the new - as in STARTED BY YOU! - sex craze of dry-humping 'garlic cloves', (which'd make you very dry, I should think!), but what about the guy in the background being dry-bummed by a giant artichoke - an' he didn't even have the decency to wait until they'd finished before smoking!

RE: Peril At End House.

Surely there can't be that much peril, given how the killer actually injects the chocolate with poison right in front of you!

The perspective of the image on the Christie cover makes quite literally no sense - unless, of course, the man with the needle is hanging upside down with his back to us.

Tell you what, Duke - I saw both Blacula & Scream, Blacula, Scream recently and I'm totally in love with Tina's purple shoes from her big "being chased from the funeral home" scene, but I can't find a screen shot of one of the MANY close ups on her shoes anywhere. Get me that screenshot and I will keep my eyes peeled for something donated you might like. Sometimes people donate movies we can't put on the shelf because they're VHS or they're not in Baker & Taylor. (That's a special company that sells stuff to libraries. If it's in there then we can circulate it without getting into trouble. If it's not....)

But it means you'd have to trust me with your address! MAWHAHAHAHA!
